Acceptance of these Terms & Conditions

By accessing or purchasing from the Gourmet Spice Company website you are governed by these terms and conditions. We aim to always give you excellent service, so if you’ve received an order with which you are not entirely satisfied, please contact us straight away and we’ll do everything we can to put things right.

Order Cancellation

You may cancel your order by returning the unopened goods (in saleable condition) and notice to us up to 14 days after the day the goods are received. In the event of such valid cancellation we shall refund the full cost of the goods within 30 days of such valid cancellation. Please note we cannot be responsible for anything we don’t receive back, so please make sure you use a reliable postage service where you can get a signature or other proof of delivery.

Acceptance of your Order

After placing an order, you will receive an email from us acknowledging safe receipt of your order. Please note that this does not mean that your order has been accepted. All orders are subject to acceptance by us and we will confirm such acceptance to you by sending an email that confirms that the order has been despatched. The contract between us will only be formed when we send you the despatch confirmation.

Prices

All prices shown are in UK Pounds Sterling.

Delivery & Shipping

Carriage charges are based on weight and most smaller orders go out Royal Mail First Class. We will take all reasonable steps to despatch your order within 1 working day, so most orders will be delivered within about 2 days after that. For most larger orders, a signature may be required. There may be different delivery options at the checkout so please choose the one that works for you. If you need something in a hurry though, get in touch and we’ll do our best.

Because we use external carriers, we cannot accept responsibility for delays in delivery outside of our control including industrial action and subsequent disruption to the service. As such, we cannot accept liability to you in respect of any failure to deliver within this timescale, but should we not be able to deliver within the timescale above, we will inform you and offer you the option of a refund.

UK deliveries

We try to keep our delivery charges to a minimum, so we charge a single nominal fixed amount per order (to contribute towards the cost of packaging, admin & other charges) plus the variable postage amount based on the weight. We think this is better for you as it means that you only pay the order/packaging cost once if you’re ordering multiple items but if you’ve got any questions about this (or any better suggestions!) please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Shipping rates can be confusing (but we’ll do the confusing bit for you) and we think this is the area we’ll revisit regularly to make sure we balance the need to offer best value in a market where shipping costs are going through the roof. Mindful of cost though, if you spend £35 or we’ll send your order out totally FREE of P&P, with our love.

International deliveries

Because shipping rates are complicated for international deliveries, we’ll be opening up our store for other countries in phases. It’s the only way we can stay sane. If we haven’t gotten to your country yet, please contact us and we can easily fix that and do a one-off despatch whilst we open the store up to your country.

We want you to be delighted with your products and offer a 100% quality guarantee. If you are not entirely satisfied with our products, please get in touch and we’ll do our very best to remedy the situation.

Customer Support and Service

If you need to contact us on any customer support or service issue, please use the email form on the ‘Contact Us‘ page. We look at all emails immediately and this approach helps to keep our cost down, so we don’t have to charge too much for administration. However, if you prefer to speak to us instead, please call us on the number shown on our ‘Contact Us‘ page or at the foot of every page on this website.

Our normal hours of operation are 9:00am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday but we can action emails outside these times so so drop us a line and we’ll do our best to help.

Complaint Procedure

We will respond to any complaint promptly and take appropriate action without delay. We will acknowledge any complaint within two working days and endeavour to resolve the matter with you within five working days at the most. If we are unable to resolve the matter within this time, we will notify you and keep you informed of further progress.

Data Protection & Privacy Statement

We always protect your privacy and will only use any information we collect lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act. We won’t pass on or reveal any information to any third party (unless required to by law). If you’ve given us permission to occasionally keep in touch with our newsletter to let you know of special offers and promotions, every email will always have an easy option for you to unsubscribe at any time.

Legal Liability

The contract for the sale of goods or services by Gourmet Spice Company from this website shall be exclusively subject to, governed by, construed and interpreted in accordance with English law. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in respect of them and any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with them. These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
